A dramatic police pursuit in Oklahoma City has captured widespread attention after authorities released stunning drone footage showing the chase coming to a violent end when the fleeing vehicle sped through a stop sign and was T-boned by another car.
The Oklahoma City Police Department released the aerial footage from an incident that occurred on August 8, 2026, on the city’s southwest side. Police said the video was captured by a drone operated through the department’s Real Time Information Center (RTIC).
The footage gives viewers a bird’s-eye view of the short but dangerous pursuit as officers follow the fleeing vehicle through neighborhood streets.
Then comes the jaw-dropping ending.
As the suspect’s vehicle races toward an intersection, the driver reportedly blows through a stop sign. Seconds later, another motorist traveling through the intersection slams directly into the side of the fleeing vehicle, bringing the chase to an abrupt and spectacular halt.
The impact spins the suspect’s vehicle around as police quickly close in on the crash scene.
The newly released footage has drawn attention not only because of the violent ending, but also because of the unusual overhead perspective provided by the police drone. Instead of the traditional dashboard or body-camera view, viewers are able to watch the pursuit unfold from high above the streets.

Authorities had not publicly provided full details about what initially prompted officers to pursue the driver in the information accompanying the footage. Reports also did not immediately clarify whether anyone in the other vehicle suffered serious injuries.
Still, the dramatic video serves as another reminder of how quickly police pursuits can turn dangerous for suspects, officers and completely uninvolved motorists.
