King Von’s Blood Brother YBG Lo Drops Chilling Claim: “He Would Be in Jail” If He Were Still Alive

Late Chicago rapper King Von is once again at the center of online conversation after his blood brother, YBG Lo, made a striking statement about the direction Von’s life may have taken had he survived.

In a circulating interview clip shared by MyMixtapez, YBG Lo suggested that King Von would likely have ended up behind bars because of the pace at which he was living. He described his brother as someone who was “moving way too fast” and implied that changing his mindset would have been extremely difficult.

The comments have quickly generated reactions among hip-hop fans, especially because King Von’s life before fame included repeated encounters with the criminal justice system.

Von, whose real name was Dayvon Bennett, previously spoke openly about spending significant periods incarcerated before his rap career exploded. In a 2020 Billboard interview, he recalled going from high school into jail while watching Chicago’s drill movement grow from behind bars.

Despite that troubled history, Von’s music career was rising rapidly. His storytelling style and songs centered around life in Chicago helped make him one of drill music’s most recognizable emerging stars. His debut studio album, Welcome to O’Block, arrived just days before his death.

Von was only 26 when he was fatally shot outside an Atlanta nightclub on November 6, 2020, following an altercation between two groups, according to authorities.

YBG Lo’s comments are ultimately his personal opinion about what might have happened—not proof that Von would have faced imprisonment had he lived.

Still, the statement has reopened discussion about the late rapper’s lifestyle, legal history and how quickly his life was changing during his rise to fame.

For many fans, King Von remains remembered as an artist whose career was accelerating just as dramatically as the street circumstances surrounding him. His brother’s latest remarks now add another emotional perspective to the continuing debate over what Von’s future could have looked like had his life not ended so suddenly.
