Popular Ghanaian actor and passionate Real Madrid supporter Yaw Dabo has turned heads on social media after taking aim at Yan Diomande following the Ivorian youngster’s La Liga debut for the Spanish giants.
In a video circulating online, Dabo expressed disappointment with Diomande’s display, describing the highly-rated attacker’s performance as below the level he expected from a player wearing the famous Real Madrid shirt.
Diomande made his official La Liga debut for Madrid during Saturday’s dramatic 2-1 victory over Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium. The 19-year-old started the game on the bench before manager Jose Mourinho introduced him in the 64th minute as a replacement for Arda Güler.
Despite Madrid eventually collecting all three points, Dabo was apparently far from impressed by what he saw from the Ivorian international during his time on the pitch.
The Kumawood actor, who is also the founder of Dabo Soccer Academy, has developed a reputation for his passionate and sometimes hilarious football analysis. His love for Real Madrid is well documented, and he rarely hides his emotions when discussing the Spanish powerhouse.
Expectations surrounding Diomande are particularly high after his big-money arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu. Before making his league debut, he featured in Madrid’s preseason victory over Schalke 04, where reports noted that he was still working toward peak fitness following an interrupted preparation.

Madrid’s victory over Espanyol was secured in dramatic fashion. Jude Bellingham opened the scoring in the ninth minute before Alex Calatrava equalized for the hosts. Substitute Carlos Espí then struck in the 90th minute to hand Mourinho a winning start on his return to La Liga.
For Diomande, however, the spotlight is only getting brighter.
Dabo’s viral reaction has now added another layer of pressure, with fans debating whether the youngster deserves patience while adapting to one of football’s most demanding clubs.
