Ghanaian dancehall heavyweight Shatta Wale has once again grabbed attention online after dropping two separate videos showing love to American rap superstars Lil Durk and Lil Baby.
The back-to-back clips have quickly caught the attention of fans, particularly because Shatta Wale has never hidden his admiration for the lifestyle, music and success of some of America’s biggest hip-hop stars.
In one of the circulating videos, the Shatta Movement boss shows his support for Lil Durk, the Chicago rapper whose music has developed a strong following among hip-hop lovers in Ghana.
The gesture comes at a time when Durk has been dominating conversations following his highly publicized federal murder-for-hire trial and subsequent acquittal.

Shatta Wale followed that up with another video showing love to Lil Baby, another American rapper he has publicly referenced in the past.
Rather than combining both shout-outs into a single moment, Shatta’s decision to post separate videos has fueled excitement among supporters, with some viewing the clips as another indication of his strong connection to American hip-hop culture.
Shatta Wale has previously mentioned both Lil Baby and Lil Durk while discussing his own success and spending power. During an interview earlier this year, he referenced the two rappers while explaining the level of financial success he believes he has achieved through his music career in Ghana.
The connection is also interesting considering the popularity of American rap music among Ghanaian listeners. Recent Ghana music-chart data has shown albums from Lil Durk and Lil Baby continuing to attract listeners alongside projects from some of Ghana’s biggest stars.
