Who Is Djifa? Meet the Ghanaian-Dutch Influencer and Medical Doctor Who Left Asake Embarrassed After Rejecting His Steamy Dance Moves at London’s O2 Arena

What was supposed to be another electrifying performance by Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Asake at London’s prestigious O2 Arena took an unexpected turn when Ghanaian influencer Djifa refused to participate in his provocative dance routine, leaving the singer in an awkward situation that has since taken social media by storm.

The incident occurred on Thursday, October 15, 2026, during Asake’s sold-out concert, which attracted thousands of enthusiastic fans to the 20,000-capacity entertainment venue.

Asake’s Steamy Dance Attempt Takes Unexpected Turn

During his energetic performance, Asake invited Ghanaian-Dutch influencer and medical doctor Djifa Isabella Aicha Van Staalduinen onto the stage for what appeared to be one of his signature dance routines.

Known for incorporating intimate dance moves into his performances, the Nigerian musician attempted to lift Djifa and position her against his thigh as part of the routine.

However, things did not unfold as anticipated.

Instead of going along with the performance, Djifa appeared unwilling to participate in the particular move, resisting the singer’s attempts to lift her.

After several unsuccessful attempts, Asake abandoned the move, and the pair continued dancing separately.

The unexpected encounter quickly became one of the most discussed moments from the concert, with clips spreading across social media platforms.

Who Is Djifa, the Ghanaian Woman Who Stole Asake’s Spotlight?

Although her appearance at the concert introduced her to a wider international audience, Djifa is no stranger to Ghana’s entertainment industry.

The Ghanaian-Dutch medical doctor, influencer, humanitarian and television personality previously appeared in the third season of the Ghanaian reality television series GH Queens.

Her appearance on the show alongside personalities including Efia Odo helped establish her presence in Ghana’s entertainment circles.

Beyond entertainment, Djifa has also been associated with humanitarian activities, making her a multifaceted personality whose influence extends beyond social media.

Social Media Divided Over Djifa’s Refusal

The incident has generated mixed reactions, with some social media users describing the encounter as an embarrassing moment for Asake.

Others have defended Djifa, arguing that appearing on stage with a celebrity does not automatically mean agreeing to intimate physical contact.

Ghanaian socialite Efia Odo also publicly defended Djifa after critics questioned her decision to reject the dance move.

Efia Odo maintained that a confident and attractive woman has every right to establish personal boundaries without facing ridicule.

A Viral Moment Beyond the Music

Despite the controversy, Asake’s O2 Arena performance marked another significant achievement in his music career.
The concert formed part of his In God We Trust World Tour, further demonstrating his growing international appeal.

However, Djifa’s unexpected reaction has created a conversation extending beyond entertainment, touching on consent, personal boundaries and the expectations placed on women during celebrity performances.

While some have portrayed the encounter as a public humiliation for Asake, the footage does not establish that Djifa intended to embarrass him.
