A beautiful moment after Manchester City’s dramatic Premier League victory over Bournemouth has captured hearts online after a young City supporter broke down in tears when Antoine Semenyo handed him his match-worn shirt.
The emotional scenes unfolded at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, August 23, shortly after Manchester City completed a stunning late comeback to defeat Bournemouth 2-1 in their opening Premier League match of the 2026/27 season.
As players acknowledged supporters following the final whistle, Ghana international Semenyo spotted the youngster in the stands and made his way over to present him with his shirt.
The gesture immediately overwhelmed the young fan, who could be seen clutching the precious souvenir as tears rolled down his face. His priceless reaction quickly attracted attention online, with football supporters praising Semenyo for making a young fan’s day unforgettable.
The moment carried extra significance for Semenyo, who was facing his former club Bournemouth. The Ghanaian attacker joined Manchester City from the Cherries in January 2026 in a deal reportedly worth around £62.5 million.
On the pitch, City were forced to fight until the final minutes after Bournemouth took the lead through Marcus Tavernier in the first half.
With defeat looming, Marc Guéhi headed home an equalizer in the 84th minute before Josko Gvardiol struck deep into stoppage time to complete an incredible turnaround and hand new manager Enzo Maresca a winning Premier League start.
But after all the late-match drama, it was Semenyo’s touching interaction with the young supporter that delivered another memorable moment.
Football is often remembered for goals, trophies and spectacular victories, but for one young Manchester City fan, Antoine Semenyo’s shirt and a simple act of kindness created a memory that could last a lifetime.
