DISTURBING VIDEO: ‘Beasts of No Nation’ Star Strika Allegedly Caught Cutting Metal From Kwashieman Footbridge for Scrap

A disturbing video circulating on social media has sparked concern after a young man identified online as Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, popularly known as Strika, allegedly appeared to be removing metal parts from a pedestrian footbridge at Kwashieman in Accra.

Strika became internationally known for his memorable role in the acclaimed 2015 Hollywood war drama “Beasts of No Nation,” where he starred alongside Ghanaian actor Abraham Attah and Hollywood star Idris Elba. Netflix lists Quaye among the film’s cast.

In the latest circulating footage, residents are seen confronting a man believed to be Strika after reportedly finding him cutting pieces of metal from the footbridge.

According to claims accompanying the video, the metal was allegedly being removed with the intention of selling it as scrap. However, the exact circumstances surrounding the incident have not been independently confirmed, and it remains unclear whether police have opened an investigation or filed any charges.

Video Leaves Social Media Users Concerned

The footage has generated emotional reactions, particularly because of Strika’s journey from international movie recognition to the personal and financial difficulties that have been publicly documented over the years.

In 2018, reports emerged that the former child actor had been struggling financially and was seen begging on the streets of Accra. At the time, Strika spoke publicly about difficulties he had experienced following his appearance in the globally successful movie.

More recently, in April 2026, he reportedly resurfaced working as a security guard at a shopping facility in Accra, once again prompting conversations about the challenges some young actors face after achieving fame at an early age.

The latest video has now renewed calls from some social media users for support and intervention rather than simply condemnation.

For many who remember the talented young actor from “Beasts of No Nation,” the footage presents a troubling picture of how dramatically life can change after the cameras stop rolling.

As the video continues to circulate, confirmation from Strika himself or the appropriate authorities will be important in establishing exactly what happened at the Kwashieman footbridge.
