Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has received another major update behind bars, with his projected federal prison release date reportedly moved forward once again, bringing him another step closer to freedom.

According to updated Federal Bureau of Prisons records cited by TMZ on September 3, 2026, Combs is now scheduled for release from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey on February 5, 2028. His previous projected release date was February 20, meaning approximately two more weeks have been removed from his expected time behind bars.

The latest adjustment adds another twist to Combs’ highly publicized prison journey. His projected release date has changed several times since he began serving his federal sentence, and officials have cautioned that inmate release dates can continue to change depending on applicable credits and other factors.

Combs, 56, was sentenced in October 2025 to 50 months in federal prison after a jury convicted him on two counts related to transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution. However, the jury acquitted the Bad Boy Records founder of the more serious racketeering conspiracy and sex-trafficking charges brought against him.

The hip-hop mogul has also faced challenges while incarcerated. Reports recently claimed that Combs was involved in an altercation with another inmate and temporarily placed in solitary confinement before returning to the prison’s general population.

Despite those developments, the newly listed February 5, 2028 release date means the countdown toward life outside prison has become slightly shorter.
