ARSENAL DESTROY MAN CITY 3-0! Gunners Lift 2026 Community Shield After Stunning Cardiff Masterclass

Arsenal sent a powerful warning to their rivals ahead of the new season after thrashing Manchester City 3-0 to win the 2026 FA Community Shield at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

Mikel Arteta’s side wasted virtually no time announcing their intentions, taking the lead after just 24.5 seconds through Riccardo Calafiori. Myles Lewis-Skelly unlocked the City defence with an excellent pass before Calafiori produced the finish to give Arsenal a dream start.

Manchester City barely had time to recover before the Premier League champions tightened their grip on the contest.

Kai Havertz doubled Arsenal’s advantage in the 28th minute, heading home after Christos Tzolis helped create the opportunity from Martin Ødegaard’s delivery. City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma failed to keep the effort out as Arsenal took complete control of the season-opening showdown.

Any hopes of a dramatic Manchester City comeback were effectively destroyed shortly after halftime.

Captain Martin Ødegaard made it 3-0 just three minutes into the second half, showing composure to deceive Donnarumma before calmly finding the net. The third goal sparked wild celebrations among the travelling Arsenal supporters as the Community Shield began moving firmly into the Gunners’ hands.

City, playing their first competitive match under new manager Enzo Maresca, struggled to establish control. Erling Haaland endured a frustrating afternoon, with one of his best opportunities before halftime ending with a shot wide of David Raya’s goal.

Arsenal, meanwhile, looked sharp, confident and dangerous in possession. New arrivals Bruno Guimarães and Christos Tzolis also featured as Arteta’s team produced an emphatic performance against one of their biggest domestic rivals.

The 3-0 victory handed Arsenal the first piece of English silverware of the 2026-27 campaign and delivered an early statement as they prepare to defend their Premier League crown.

For Manchester City, however, the heavy defeat leaves Maresca with plenty to address as the club begins life in the post-Pep Guardiola era.

For Arsenal, it could hardly have started better: three goals, a clean sheet, a trophy — and a commanding victory over Manchester City.
