Ghanaian musician Barosky has finally returned home after the Government of Ghana stepped in to repatriate him from the United Kingdom following widespread concern over his difficult living conditions in Manchester.
Barosky, known privately as Isaac Obeng Mensah, arrived safely in Ghana on the night of Monday, September 7, 2026, bringing an emotional end to weeks of uncertainty surrounding his welfare abroad.
His situation attracted national attention after disturbing videos showing him living under difficult circumstances in Manchester circulated on social media. The footage sparked concern among fans and members of the Ghanaian community, with many calling for urgent intervention.
Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa confirmed on Tuesday that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs fully financed Barosky’s journey back to Ghana as part of its responsibility to assist Ghanaian citizens facing distress overseas.
But the government’s intervention will not end with simply bringing him home.
According to the Foreign Minister, Barosky is also being provided with psychosocial assistance and financial support aimed at helping him successfully reintegrate into society and rebuild his life following his ordeal in the UK.
Ablakwa expressed appreciation to Ghanaians who helped bring attention to the musician’s situation, particularly media personality Nana Romeo, whose efforts played a major role in highlighting Barosky’s plight.
Ghana’s High Commission in the United Kingdom was also praised for coordinating efforts leading to his eventual return.
Before his repatriation, Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK, Sabah Zita Benson, personally visited Barosky in Manchester after his condition became public. During that engagement, the musician reportedly expressed willingness to return to Ghana.
Barosky’s arrival now marks the beginning of what many hope will be a dramatic turnaround in his life.
From troubling images of hardship on the streets of Manchester to finally stepping back onto Ghanaian soil with government-backed support, his story has triggered conversations about the challenges some Ghanaian entertainers and citizens face while living abroad.
For Barosky, the focus now shifts from survival to recovery, stability and rebuilding his future at home.
