Referee Daniel Laryea

Ghanaian FIFA referee Daniel Nii Laryea is among nine match officials who have reportedly failed the 2026 FIFA/CAF fitness and medical assessments, putting their international officiating status at risk.

The annual Cooper fitness tests were conducted at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram from July 9 to July 14, 2026, as part of FIFA and CAF’s mandatory evaluation process for listed referees.

Reports indicate that the referees who failed to meet the required standards are Daniel Nii Laryea, Adaari Abdul Latif, Reginald Amoah Collins, Selorm Yao Bless, and Salifu Barikisu.

The affected assistant referees are Dolagbanu Emmanuel, Rejoice Addokwei, Farizua Alice Chakule, and Doris Asumang Darko.

The nine officials are expected to be granted another opportunity to retake both the fitness and medical assessments. Passing the retest would restore their eligibility to officiate FIFA and CAF competitions.
