Ghana international Thomas Partey has arrived in Saudi Arabia as he closes in on a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Shabab.
Partey is expected to complete the final stages of his transfer and undergo the necessary formalities before putting pen to paper on a contract with the Riyadh-based club.
The experienced midfielder’s arrival marks a major step towards his switch to the Saudi Arabian top flight, where he is set to bring his wealth of experience at the highest level of European football.

Al Shabab are undergoing a rebuilding process under German coach Thomas Letsch and have been active in the 2026 summer transfer window. The club have already added several players, including Roger Martínez, Mamadou Thierno Barry, Tin Jedvaj and Awad Al-Nashri.
Partey’s move to Al Shabab will add another high-profile name to the club’s squad and could provide the Ghanaian with a fresh chapter in his career.
The 33-year-old midfielder previously enjoyed a successful spell in the Premier League with Arsenal, where he established himself as an important figure in midfield after joining from Atlético Madrid.
His move to Saudi Arabia is also expected to attract significant attention in Ghana, particularly with the midfielder continuing to be an important figure around the Black Stars.
Al Shabab are based in Riyadh and compete in the Saudi Pro League, with the club currently coached by Letsch.
Partey’s arrival in Saudi Arabia now puts him within touching distance of officially beginning his new adventure with Al Shabab.
