The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially reached an agreement with experienced Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz to continue as head coach of the Black Stars, handing him a fresh mandate to lead Ghana’s senior national team.
The announcement, made on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, comes weeks after Queiroz’s previous assignment with Ghana ended following the country’s campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to the GFA, negotiations involving Queiroz, the football association and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation resulted in an agreement for the 73-year-old tactician to return for another spell in charge.
