Ghana’s entertainment and beauty pageant community has been plunged into mourning following the reported passing of Juliana Bubune Titiati-Tsikata, popularly known as Bubune, the first runner-up of the 2013 edition of TV3’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB).

News of her death emerged on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, triggering an outpouring of emotional tributes from friends, fans and Ghanaians who remembered her remarkable journey on the popular cultural reality show.

Bubune represented the Volta Region during the seventh season of Ghana’s Most Beautiful and quickly became one of the competition’s most memorable contestants. Her confidence, cultural performances and commanding presence carried her all the way to the grand finale, where she finished as first runner-up.

Beyond the glamour of the GMB stage, however, Bubune later faced an intensely personal health battle.

She had publicly spoken about her fight with lymphoma cancer, sharing details of undergoing chemotherapy and eventually requiring a bone marrow transplant. Her emotional story touched many Ghanaians after she appeared on TV3’s The Ladies Circle to discuss the difficult journey she had endured.

Her story became even more heartbreaking when she revealed that she had also lost her newborn son during the period surrounding her illness, adding another devastating chapter to a battle she faced with courage and determination.

Following reports of her passing, social media has been flooded with messages of sorrow, with many remembering the vibrant young woman who once proudly showcased the culture and traditions of the Volta Region to viewers across Ghana.

A close friend, Gertrude Adzo Borklo, was among those who publicly paid tribute, describing the loss as deeply heartbreaking and remembering Bubune for the strength she displayed throughout her struggles.

For many GMB followers, Bubune was more than just a former beauty-pageant contestant. She represented resilience, cultural pride and determination even during some of the most difficult moments of her life.

Her passing brings a painful end to a journey that inspired many both on and away from television.

From the bright lights of the Ghana’s Most Beautiful stage to a courageous fight for her health, Juliana “Bubune” Titiati leaves behind memories that will remain with those who followed her remarkable story.

May she rest in peace.
