The Ghana Police Service has declared Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, popularly known online as “Ghana Jollof,” wanted in connection with an alleged case of inciting violence.

Police issued the wanted notice on Thursday, September 17, 2026, identifying Kodua as a 40-year-old woman of fair complexion. Authorities said she was last seen at the Accra International Airport on August 4, 2022, and information available to investigators suggests she may currently be in the United Kingdom.

Kodua has been described in local media reports as a TikTok personality and supporter of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). The “Ghana Jollof” account has attracted attention for politically charged commentary and strong criticism of President John Dramani Mahama, First Lady Lordina Mahama and other figures associated with the governing National Democratic Congress.

However, the police notice did not publicly provide detailed information about the specific statements or actions that form the basis of the alleged incitement case.

The development comes amid heightened attention surrounding the person believed to be behind the “Ghana Jollof” social media account.

Earlier reports indicated that other individuals had been questioned or detained amid attempts by security agencies to establish the identity of the account’s operator. NPP officials have publicly raised concerns about some of those actions, arguing that people may have been wrongly linked to the account.

Police are now asking members of the public who have credible information about Kodua’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or contact the Service through its published telephone number.

The declaration places the controversial social media personality at the center of another major debate over political speech, social media conduct and law enforcement in Ghana.

For now, Barbara Asantewaa Kodua remains wanted in connection with the alleged offence, and no court has determined her guilt in relation to the allegation.
