Another young Ghanaian-American football talent is making waves in the United States, as 18-year-old defender Parker Amoo-Mensah has earned a call-up to the United States Under-19 Men’s National Team for an international camp in Spain.
Amoo-Mensah, who plays for Orlando City B, was included in head coach Rob Valentino’s 20-player squad for the September-October international window in Marbella, Spain. The United States is scheduled to face Wales, England and Norway during the camp.
The USA opened its three-match schedule against Wales on September 29, followed by a highly anticipated meeting with England on October 2. The Americans will then conclude the camp against Norway on October 5.
For Amoo-Mensah, the national-team selection represents another significant milestone in a rapidly developing football career.
Born on February 12, 2008, the 5-foot-11 defender has progressed through Orlando City’s youth development system. Earlier in 2026, Orlando City B signed him to an MLS NEXT Pro contract running through the 2028 season. He made his professional debut on March 8 against Chicago Fire FC II and quickly began earning valuable minutes at the professional level.
Orlando City officials previously praised the young defender for his leadership, consistency, discipline and development within the club’s pathway.
His inclusion in the U.S. U-19 squad now gives him the opportunity to test himself against some of Europe’s promising young players while representing the United States on the international stage.
The Marbella camp is also part of U.S. Soccer’s wider youth development program aimed at preparing emerging players for future opportunities with higher national-team age groups.
For Ghanaian football fans and the Ghanaian-American community, Amoo-Mensah is another young name worth watching closely.
At only 18, his journey from Orlando City’s academy to professional football and now the U.S. youth national-team setup suggests his career is steadily moving upward — with potentially much bigger opportunities still ahead.
