Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Banks, is facing federal charges stemming from an alleged murder-for-hire plot targeting Atlanta rapper Quando Rondo, whose legal name is Tyquian Bowman. Prosecutors allege Durk helped arrange and finance an attempted attack on Bowman in Los Angeles in 2022. Bowman survived, but his cousin Saviay’a Robinson was killed. Durk has pleaded not guilty, and his attorneys have argued that he had nothing to do with the killing.
Kanye and Lil Durk have shared a long professional relationship, collaborating on several music projects over the years, including work connected to Ye’s Donda and Vultures eras.
Ye is not the only major celebrity to publicly stand behind Durk during the trial. Rapper MGK has also appeared in support of the Chicago artist.
With powerful testimony unfolding, serious federal allegations at stake and now Kanye West dramatically appearing in court, Lil Durk’s trial has quickly become one of the most closely watched hip-hop court battles of 2026.
For Ye, his courthouse appearance sent one clear message: he came to stand with Lil Durk when the stakes could hardly be higher.
