Ghanaian singer MOLIY has written her name into the history books, becoming the first Ghanaian artist to win at the Caribbean Music Awards after scoring a double victory with her global hit “Shake It to the Max (FLY) [Remix].”
The song, featuring Jamaican stars Shenseea and Skillibeng alongside producer Silent Addy, captured two major honors at the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards: Dancehall Song of the Year and Dancehall Collaboration of the Year.
The historic ceremony took place on September 19, 2026, at the National Academy for the Performing Arts in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The event also marked the first time the Caribbean Music Awards had been staged in the Caribbean after previous editions were held in Brooklyn, New York.
MOLIY’s achievement represents another major international breakthrough for Ghanaian music, particularly as Afrobeats and dancehall continue to build stronger connections across Africa and the Caribbean.
“Shake It to the Max (FLY) [Remix]” had already enjoyed enormous success before its latest awards triumph. The remix, released in 2025, expanded the reach of the original song by bringing together MOLIY’s distinctive sound with Shenseea and Skillibeng’s dancehall energy.
The record subsequently gained international chart recognition and earned gold certification in the United States after reaching 500,000 certified units.
For MOLIY, the Caribbean Music Awards victory is particularly significant because she is now being recognized as the first Ghanaian artist to secure a win at the ceremony.
What began as a viral record has now grown into an international award-winning collaboration connecting Ghana and Jamaica on one of dancehall’s biggest stages.
