The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged kidnapping and murder of 33-year-old phone dealer Nana Yaw Kyere in Teshie, Accra.

Kyere, who reportedly operated as a mobile phone dealer around the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, was reported missing on September 22, 2026, triggering an investigation by the Police Missing Persons Unit.

Police identified the three suspects as Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams and Josiah Obodai.

According to investigators, Kyere’s disappearance was traced to a residence in the Teshie area, where a confrontation allegedly occurred before his death. Police say investigations further uncovered efforts to dispose of and burn his body in an apparent attempt to conceal evidence.

Reports indicate that Kyere had left his home in Kokomlemle in his Honda Civic before contact with him was eventually lost.

As investigators pieced together his final movements, attention reportedly turned to messages sent from his phone before his disappearance. Earlier accounts indicated that Kyere had told a friend he believed he had been “set up” and shared his location shortly before communication stopped.

His disappearance later turned into a murder investigation after his body was discovered.

Police investigations have also reportedly led to the recovery of some items linked to the deceased as authorities continue gathering evidence surrounding the circumstances of his death.

The disturbing case has generated widespread reaction, particularly among traders and colleagues at Circle who knew Kyere as a phone dealer.

The three suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue.

Authorities are expected to pursue further leads to establish the full sequence of events, determine the specific roles allegedly played by each suspect, and identify whether any additional individuals were involved.

For now, the arrests mark a major development in a case that began as a missing-person report and has since evolved into a deeply troubling murder investigation.
