There was heightened attention at the Teshie-Nungua District Court on Monday as three suspects linked to the alleged kidnapping and murder of 33-year-old phone dealer Nana Yaw Kyere appeared before the court and were later escorted away following proceedings.
The suspects, Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams and Josiah Obodai were seen leaving the courthouse under security amid a crowd of onlookers following their appearance on September 28, 2026.
Their court appearance comes after the Ghana Police Service announced their arrests in connection with the disappearance and death of Kyere, a phone dealer who operated around the Kwame Nkrumah Circle area in Accra.
According to police, Kyere left his Kokomlemle residence in his Honda Civic on September 19 and failed to return. He was later reported missing on September 22. Investigators allege that he was lured to a residence at Teshie Agbleza by Sarah Osei Adams.

Police further allege that Kyere was attacked during a confrontation at the residence and later died from his injuries. Investigators say his body was subsequently transported in a Kia Morning vehicle, dumped near the motorway and set ablaze. His partially burnt remains were discovered at Community 18 on September 21.
The investigation has also led to the recovery of Kyere’s iPhone 12, which police allege was sold for GH¢100. Another individual has reportedly been detained in connection with receiving the device.
The appearance of the three suspects at the Teshie-Nungua District Court has attracted significant public interest as family members, friends and members of the public continue to follow developments in the case.
The allegations against the suspects have not yet been proven in court, and they are entitled to the presumption of innocence as legal proceedings continue.
Police say investigations remain ongoing as officers work to determine the full circumstances surrounding Kyere’s death and whether any additional people were involved.
