A remarkable security operation involving U.S. President Donald Trump has captured international attention after new reports revealed how he was secretly moved out of Turkey amid fears of a possible Iranian assassination attempt.
Trump had just completed the NATO summit in Ankara on July 8, 2026, when what appeared to be a routine presidential departure reportedly turned into an extraordinary deception operation. Cameras showed Trump boarding the older blue-and-white Air Force One, apparently preparing to fly to Britain.
But behind the scenes, something very different was reportedly happening.
According to reporting cited by the Associated Press, Trump and several aides quietly exited the aircraft from another side and entered an airport catering truck normally used to service planes. Meanwhile, journalists and even some White House staff reportedly remained aboard the older Air Force One believing Trump was traveling with them. Reporters were also instructed to keep their window shades lowered during part of the journey.

Trump’s smaller military aircraft arrived in Britain shortly before the decoy plane, allowing the president to eventually reappear without publicly exposing the secret switch.
The White House has not publicly confirmed every operational detail reported about the catering-truck maneuver. However, White House communications director Steven Cheung said authorities use every available tool to deal with threats against the president. The Associated Press also noted that it had not independently confirmed all details originally reported by The Washington Post.
The newly revealed operation has now turned what once looked like an ordinary presidential departure into one of the most dramatic security stories surrounding Trump’s foreign travel — complete with a decoy Air Force One, a catering truck and a secret military flight.
