Dramatic interrogation footage involving Sean Gathright, one of the men convicted of murdering Jacksonville rapper Julio Foolio, is drawing attention online after showing a tense confrontation between Gathright and police officers.
The footage, which circulated widely on social media this week, shows Gathright apparently refusing repeated instructions to sit down inside an interrogation room. The situation quickly becomes heated as several officers move in to restrain him. During the confrontation, Gathright can be heard saying, “I can’t breathe.”
The clip stems from Gathright’s detention following his 2024 arrest in connection with Foolio’s killing. Other interrogation-room footage shown during his 2026 trial captured Gathright removing an ankle monitor, climbing onto a table and reaching toward the ceiling in what prosecutors portrayed as an attempted escape. A judge ultimately allowed jurors to see only portions of that footage.

Gathright was among four men prosecuted over the deadly ambush that killed Foolio, whose real name was Charles Jones, on June 23, 2024, while the rapper was celebrating his 26th birthday in Tampa, Florida.
Prosecutors argued that the attack was carefully coordinated and connected to a long-running Jacksonville gang rivalry. Gathright, Isaiah Chance, Rashad Murphy and Davion Murphy were all convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder in May 2026. Gathright was additionally convicted of three counts of attempted murder.
On June 22, 2026, the four men were sentenced to life in prison after jurors declined to recommend the death penalty.
Now, the resurfaced interrogation footage is giving the public another look at the tense moments surrounding Gathright’s arrest and the investigation into one of Florida hip-hop’s most high-profile murder cases.
