Ghana’s most enduring dancehall rivalry has been thrown back into the spotlight after Shatta Wale delivered another fiery assessment of fellow musician Stonebwoy.
Speaking during an appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, the outspoken Shatta Movement leader claimed that Stonebwoy would struggle to look him directly in the face because of the strength of his personality and confidence. Shatta Wale declared that his “spirit is too big” for the BHIM Nation president, a remark that has quickly sparked debate among music fans.
Shatta Wale maintained that he has no personal problem with Stonebwoy but alleged that his longtime rival becomes uncomfortable whenever they meet privately. He described himself as authentic and fearless, insisting that he stands by his words and actions rather than presenting a false public image.
The “On God” hitmaker also revisited the early stages of their relationship, claiming that Stonebwoy frequently visited him when he lived in his first rented room and once addressed him as “Daddy.” According to Shatta Wale, their relationship began to deteriorate after Stonebwoy gained wider media attention and people started comparing their musical abilities.
He further suggested that outside praise may have influenced Stonebwoy’s attitude toward him. However, those comments remain Shatta Wale’s personal account of their history and have not been independently established.
Stonebwoy has since rejected the narrative. In a sharp response posted on X, he referred to their most recent public encounter and accused Shatta Wale of misrepresenting what happened between them. His reaction immediately intensified the online exchanges between supporters of BHIM Nation and the Shatta Movement.
Despite previous public attempts at reconciliation, the latest verbal battle shows that the tension between the two Ghanaian dancehall giants remains far from settled.
With Shatta Wale questioning Stonebwoy’s confidence and Stonebwoy firing back at his rival’s version of events, Ghana’s biggest music feud has once again returned to centre stage.
