The tension surrounding Lil Durk’s federal murder-for-hire trial has reached another level after a fiery message attributed to former OTF associate Kacey “OTF Jam” Hester appeared on Instagram, openly attacking the Chicago rap superstar just days before jurors are expected to begin deciding his fate.
The message, posted Sunday from an Instagram account associated with Jam, reportedly began with a blunt attack on Durk before questioning how the Grammy-winning rapper became a leader within OTF.
Among the claims, Jam reportedly wrote that “the money made dude a leader” and accused Durk of putting associates in dangerous situations while protecting his own public image.
Jam also reflected on serving approximately 12 years in prison before being released, claiming that only months later he was called to Los Angeles and became involved in the situation that ultimately resulted in the 2022 shooting targeting rapper Quando Rondo.

Rondo survived the attack, but his cousin Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson was killed.
Jam has already become one of the prosecution’s most important cooperating witnesses. During testimony, he alleged that Durk helped set the alleged retaliation plot in motion following the 2020 killing of OTF rapper King Von. Durk’s defense aggressively challenged Jam’s credibility, highlighting previous statements and prison recordings that attorneys argued contradicted portions of his testimony.
The defense has maintained that Durk did not order or finance the shooting and has attempted to shift responsibility toward others involved in the alleged conspiracy.
Durk, whose legal name is Durk Banks, has pleaded not guilty to federal charges that include murder-for-hire and stalking-related offenses. If convicted on the most serious charges, he could face life imprisonment.
Both prosecutors and the defense have now rested their cases, with closing arguments scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, before the case is handed to the jury.
Because Jam remains incarcerated, it has not been independently established whether he personally typed and uploaded the Instagram message or whether someone managing his account posted it on his behalf.
Either way, the explosive post has added another dramatic twist to a trial already gripping the hip-hop world as Lil Durk’s fate moves closer to the hands of the jury.
