The tension between two of Ghana’s biggest music heavyweights has taken another dramatic turn as Stonebwoy returned to X with another pointed response to Sarkodie, this time throwing what appears to be a brutal “landlord mentality” jab into their increasingly heated exchange.
What initially started as a conversation about fan behavior, principles and loyalty in Ghana’s music industry is quickly developing into one of the most talked-about celebrity confrontations of the moment.
Sarkodie had earlier responded strongly to Stonebwoy after the dancehall star questioned the rapper’s position on principles and accused him of presenting a different attitude publicly from what Stonebwoy said they had discussed privately.
Sarkodie rejected that interpretation, insisting Stonebwoy had misrepresented his words. He also asked the BHIM Nation president, “What is your problem?”, while maintaining that he had never deliberately posted anything on social media to shade him.
But Stonebwoy does not appear ready to allow Sarkodie to have the final word.

His latest response, referencing what he described as a “landlord mentality,” immediately added another provocative dimension to the feud. The remark can easily be interpreted as mocking the perception that Sarkodie behaves like someone who believes he occupies a superior position in Ghana’s music industry.
Whether Stonebwoy intended the phrase exactly that way or not, the timing makes the jab difficult to ignore.
The disagreement has already gone beyond ordinary social-media banter.
Stonebwoy has revisited previous tensions between himself and Sarkodie, including the controversial 2020 Black Love Concert incident. During a recent TikTok Live session, Stonebwoy alleged that he was treated poorly backstage and later reported to police following a confrontation involving Sarkodie’s team.
The latest exchanges represent a sharp contrast to the public respect both artistes have shown each other over the years.
Stonebwoy previously revealed that he congratulated Sarkodie after his UK concert and that the pair later had an extensive private conversation about the industry, relationships and principles. Sarkodie, meanwhile, said he had continued supporting Stonebwoy despite their disagreements.
But those diplomatic days appear to be disappearing fast.
With Stonebwoy now firing another savage shot and Sarkodie refusing to accept his interpretation of events, Ghanaian social media could be witnessing the beginning of a much deeper fallout.
From “What is your problem?” to “landlord mentality,” the gloves appear to be coming off and this Stonebwoy-Sarkodie clash is getting increasingly personal.
