Ghana’s entertainment space is heating up again as dancehall heavyweight Stonebwoy sends social media into overdrive with comments many fans believe were aimed at award-winning rapper Sarkodie and Shatta Wale.

The BHIM Nation president sparked the controversy on X after questioning the authenticity of a friendship between two unnamed personalities.

“These 2 guys have been faking to each other based on interests and timing,” Stonebwoy wrote, before describing the relationship as a “convenient friendship.”

Stonebwoy did not mention Sarkodie or Shatta Wale by name. However, the timing immediately sent fans into detective mode.

The post came shortly after Sarkodie and Shatta Wale appeared together at Kweku Smoke’s concert in London, where their public reunion attracted major attention. Social media users quickly interpreted Stonebwoy’s message as a brutal swipe at the two Ghanaian music giants.

The controversy effectively turned X into a battlefield, with BHIM Nation, SarkNation and Shatta Movement supporters trading arguments over loyalty, friendship and the long-running relationships among Ghana’s biggest artistes.

Sarkodie later addressed the speculation but refused to jump into a direct confrontation. The rapper explained that Stonebwoy never mentioned his name, insisting he would rather hear directly from him before concluding that the message was targeted at himself and Shatta Wale.

That response, however, did little to kill the conversation.

Instead, Stonebwoy’s remarks have continued to fuel debate over whether relationships among some of Ghana’s top musicians are genuinely built on brotherhood or simply strategic alliances that change depending on circumstances.

While some fans believe Stonebwoy completely “cooked” Sarkodie and Shatta Wale with the cryptic attack, others argue that attaching their names to the post without confirmation is pure speculation.

One thing is certain: Stonebwoy knows exactly how to get Ghanaian social media talking.

And until he publicly identifies the two people he was referring to, the mystery surrounding his explosive “fake friendship” message will continue to keep fans guessing.
