The memory of late Chicago rapper King Von remains alive years after his tragic death, and this time it is his mother who has social media talking.

A video circulating online shows Taesha Bennett, King Von’s mother, stepping out at a club to celebrate her late son’s birthday, with her youthful appearance quickly becoming almost as much of a talking point as the emotional occasion itself. Multiple social-media uploads of the celebration surfaced this week as fans continued honoring the fallen rapper.

King Von, whose real name was Dayvon Daquan Bennett, was born on August 9, 1994, meaning he would have turned 32 this year. He was raised largely by his mother in Chicago’s Parkway Gardens community, popularly known as O’Block.

In the trending footage, Taesha appears to be enjoying the birthday celebration surrounded by partygoers as the family once again keeps Von’s memory alive.

But social-media users could not ignore her appearance.

The mother of the late drill star has already attracted online attention in recent months, with photos and videos prompting reactions from fans surprised by how youthful she looks.

This latest club appearance has only added fuel to that conversation, with viewers commenting on her beauty, energy and ability to celebrate despite living with the painful loss of her son.

Behind the party atmosphere, however, remains an emotional story.

King Von was only 26 years old when he was fatally shot following an altercation outside an Atlanta nightlife venue on November 6, 2020. His death stunned the hip-hop world just as his career was rapidly gaining momentum.

Known for songs including “Crazy Story” and his vivid storytelling style, Von became one of the recognizable names of Chicago’s modern drill movement before his life was cut short.

Nearly six years later, his birthday continues to bring together relatives, supporters and fans who refuse to allow his legacy to disappear.

And this year, a simple video of his mother celebrating him has created another viral moment.
