A wave of grief swept through the forecourt of the State House in Accra on Saturday, August 8, 2026, as family, friends, colleagues and admirers gathered to say their final goodbye to beloved Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur Beverly Ama Afaglo Baah.
The solemn ceremony became especially emotional when Beverly’s husband, musician Eugene Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster, appeared alongside their two daughters to pay his last respects to the woman with whom he had built a family and shared years of memories. Video footage from the funeral showed the grieving husband and children overcome with emotion as the painful reality of Beverly’s passing unfolded before them.
Beverly’s sister, Royal Elorm, was also visibly devastated during the ceremony. She broke down in tears while standing close to her sister’s casket, creating another heartbreaking moment that captured the depth of the loss being felt by the family.
The late actress was honoured with an elaborate funeral setting, including a golden casket, traditional Adinkra-themed decorations and a prominent portrait celebrating her life. Personalities from Ghana’s entertainment industry joined relatives and sympathisers to honour an actress whose career stretched across several memorable film and television productions.
Beverly Afaglo passed away on May 24, 2026, at the age of 42, after battling cancer for about two years. Her death came only days before what would have been her 43rd birthday.
Throughout her acting career, Beverly appeared in productions including Single Six, A Northern Affair, The Game, Return of Beyonce, Crime to Christ, Girls Connection and Never Again. Beyond the screen, she was also recognised as an entrepreneur and founder of Traffic Shawarma.
As her remains were finally laid to rest, the tears from her husband, children, sister and loved ones told the story words could barely express.
Beverly Afaglo may have taken her final bow, but her performances, entrepreneurial journey and memories with those who loved her will remain part of her lasting legacy.
A thanksgiving service is scheduled for Sunday, August 9, at Action Chapel International in Tema.
