Newly resurfaced police bodycam footage involving Lil Durk and India Royale has reignited attention around the terrifying 2021 home invasion at the rapper’s Georgia residence, where gunfire was exchanged between residents and armed intruders.
The incident happened during the early morning hours of July 11, 2021, at Durk’s home in the Chateau Elan community in Braselton, Georgia. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation previously confirmed that several unidentified individuals entered the residence at about 5:14 a.m., resulting in an exchange of gunfire before the suspects escaped. No residents were injured.
Years later, bodycam footage from the police response has surfaced online, showing Durk and India being questioned by officers shortly after the frightening encounter.
In the footage, India reportedly tells an officer that she fired at the intruders, explaining that she discharged her weapon more than once during the confrontation. Reports surrounding the video also indicate that she told police the alleged intruders fired first.
