Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has sparked intense public discussion after revealing that he is romantically involved with two women who, according to him, live together in the same house.
Speaking in a recent interview clip circulating online, the Shatta Movement leader described his unconventional relationship arrangement and suggested that honesty has helped him maintain peace between the women. A video carrying the disclosure identifies the musician as discussing a relationship with two women sharing one home.
Shatta Wale explained that when he met his current partner, Maali, he was already involved with another woman. Rather than continuing to hide the situation, he said he eventually opened up about his desire to maintain both relationships.
According to the musician, the two women later became friends and began working together on some of his online activities while he rested. He presented the arrangement as one built on understanding, openness and cooperation rather than secrecy.
The outspoken artiste also praised Maali for giving him peace of mind and accepting aspects of his lifestyle that had created difficulties in his previous relationships. He admitted that hiding meetings with other women had once become stressful, prompting him to adopt what he considers a more honest approach.
Although Shatta Wale described the women as his partners—and has previously jokingly referred to two women around him as his “wives”—the available reports do not establish that he is legally married to both. In an earlier private-jet video, he playfully introduced Maali and her younger sister as his “two wives,” a comment widely interpreted as a joke.
His latest revelation has again placed his private life at the centre of Ghana’s entertainment conversation. Supporters have praised his openness, while critics have questioned whether such an arrangement could remain peaceful over time.
Shatta Wale has frequently spoken publicly about relationships, financial responsibility and supporting the mothers of his children. He previously said he had purchased houses and vehicles for his baby mothers and registered the properties in their names.
