Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly being sent back to the Special Housing Unit at FCI Fort Dix, commonly known as solitary confinement, as fresh controversy surrounds his time behind bars.
TMZ reported on September 30, 2026, that officials at the New Jersey federal prison were moving the music mogul back into restricted housing. The report comes amid new allegations concerning Combs’ conduct and the treatment he has allegedly received while incarcerated.
The latest development follows reports claiming Combs had access to prohibited items and unusual comforts inside the prison. Multiple inmates reportedly alleged that the Bad Boy Records founder had access to a cellphone, alcohol and a modified tablet, while other prisoners allegedly performed tasks such as cooking, cleaning and giving him massages.
Combs’ representatives have pushed back against suggestions that he has been receiving special treatment, describing some of the reporting surrounding his prison life as exaggerated. The Federal Bureau of Prisons has said generally that it takes contraband and staff misconduct seriously but has declined to publicly discuss details involving Combs’ individual circumstances.
This would not be Combs’ first reported stay in restricted housing at Fort Dix. Earlier in 2026, he reportedly spent time in solitary confinement following an alleged altercation with another inmate before later returning to the general prison population.
Combs is serving a 50-month federal sentence following his 2025 conviction on two counts involving transportation for prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious racketeering conspiracy and sex-trafficking charges brought against him during the highly publicized trial.
With his prison conditions once again making headlines, the reported return to the Special Housing Unit adds another dramatic chapter to Combs’ life behind bars as he continues pursuing an appeal of his convictions.
