The long-running rivalry between Ghanaian dancehall heavyweights Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale has erupted once again, following a fiery social-media response from the BHIM Nation president.
The latest confrontation began after Shatta Wale claimed during an appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast that Stonebwoy once addressed him as “Daddy” during the earlier stages of their careers. He further suggested that his rival would struggle to confront him directly because of his confidence and commanding personality.
Stonebwoy wasted little time responding to the claims. In a strongly worded post on X, he rejected Shatta Wale’s account and referred to their most recent public encounter.
“The last time you saw me, you hugged me like an obsessed woman. Aren’t you tired of lying?” Stonebwoy wrote.
The statement quickly spread across social media, reigniting arguments between BHIM Nation and Shatta Movement supporters. While Stonebwoy’s fans praised him for challenging the claim directly, Shatta Wale’s followers defended the musician and maintained that he was merely recalling their past relationship.
The hug Stonebwoy referenced occurred during a fundraising event for Ghana’s Black Stars on March 20, 2026. President John Dramani Mahama encouraged the two artistes to embrace onstage, with media personality Berla Mundi helping to facilitate the moment. The audience applauded as the longtime rivals briefly hugged, raising hopes of reconciliation.
Stonebwoy later clarified that the embrace did not erase the personal attacks and disrespect he believed had occurred between them. He explained that he participated in the gesture out of respect for the president rather than as confirmation that their differences had been permanently resolved.
The latest exchange has now shattered any lingering perception that the famous hug ended their feud. With Stonebwoy publicly accusing Shatta Wale of dishonesty, attention has turned to whether the Shatta Movement leader will respond or allow his rival’s explosive remarks to pass unanswered.
